iinal Game to De cide State Championship If Muskegon Will Play Ann Arbor Nov Outplaying its opponents at every stage of the game Lansing High won its way tp the finals of the state high school championship by defeating Detroit Northwestern 19 to 7 on erry field gridiron It was a battle of offensive teams both showing good ground gaining ability but a defense in adequate to stop the opposing team's rushes The tale of the con test is told in the total of first downs credited to each team Lan sing making 25 first downs' to 10 for the Northwestern aggregation Although Lansing outgained the Northwestern eleven in the first section neither team could score Lansing had one opportunity whenit marched down the field fromthe kick off for three first downs "only to have a fumble recovered for coupled with its high scores entitled it to serious consideration in any championship engagement TWO TIED OR BATTLING LEAD Goldie Rapp and Har grave Beth of St Paul Hit for 335 Average Chicago Nov 29 Official bat ting averages of the American as sociation announced yesterday place Goldie Rapp third baseman with the championship St Paul club and Catcher Har grave also with St Paul in a tie for the 1920 championship each with an average of 335 Although Brazil a pinch hitter with St Paul topped the list of batters with an average of 378 he only participated in 52 games as compared with '155 for Rapp and 142 for Hargrave Grover Hartley of Columbus in 80 games batted for an average of 351 and Russell of Minneapolis had an av erage of 339 for 85 games Rapp who will join the New York Nationals
