He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in The Sheplers Orval "Buck" and Patricia Shepler of Athens celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997, with an open house hosted by their children at the couple's home.

The couple was married Nov. 8, 1947, in Colon. He was employed by WA Wilson and Son Body Shop in Athens and by Fort Custer in ordinance. She was employed by E. Hill and Son State Bank in Colon and by Fort Cuiter in the Officers Separation Center.

hj 1954 they purchased WA Wilson and Son Body Shop, operating it until 1982. He then was employed by Athens Schools as bus and building supervisor until retiring in 1989. The Robinsons don and Louise Robinson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a gathering of family and close friends on Nov. 9, 1997, at their daughter and son-in-law's home in Marshall. The couple requests no gifts.
